Collector's Remarks

"I went to the gallery looking for a gift for my mother and was taken with overall harmony and visual unity of Christine's work. The color pallet is soothing with perfect little punches of color that add just the right amount of emphasis. Never one for the literal, I've always been drawn to more abstract work, work that helps you to understand the artist's medium and method. Sumberg's work shows an understanding of the paint while still not taking itself to seriously. The soft rounded edges have a sense of playfulness that I'm drawn to.  All in all, it was a perfect gift for my mother. She loves the colors and composition as much as I. The piece has found an excellent home on her mantle, but now I want one of my own!!"

"Christine's Art touches on an emotion deep within all of us, the love for pattern and color. The various use of shades and forms are a delight to behold and I find something new within her paintings every time I stare into them.  Absolutely unique and breathtaking as well as full of daring intent. Christine is a rule breaker and a trend setter, we write this as we place an order for 4 more pieces by her."

"I love the way the colors in "Coqui" seem to burst open. The color combinations are just beautiful - giving me a feeling of euphoria."

"'Sunrise' caught my attention through it's symbolism. When I saw it, it reflected a lot of myself. I didn't see the yellow parts of the painting as the sun, but as myself. And now as I look at your other pieces, which are all beautiful, I see that 'Summer Pond' reflects the same thing as well. I look and act differently from other students in my school and I saw the yellow parts as me and my close friend."

"Riverbed"
When I saw this painting online, I knew my husband would love it. It captures the crisp, cool streams of New England that we so missed while living in Texas. Each time we came home to visit, we would picnic at Smalls Falls in Farmington or walk along the winding streams behind The Rabbit Hill Inn in Vermont. Even though we live in New England again, we don't always get to take time to visit nature. If I need a little burst, I sit and admire "Riverbed."

"Monhegan Poppies"
The colors reminded me of summertime.

"I first saw one of Christine's paintings in a home in New York.  The painting was so original and intense with color and emotion.  I was glad to learn Christine had a web site of her collection.  I specifically looked for a painting for a wall in our front foyer entrance.  After looking through the entire collection of amazing pieces, I ultimately chose "red impatiens."  The piece is a perfect fit for the foyer room with muted lights.  The painting's bright color and whimsical design pop out to brighten the small room.  I look forward to adding other Wall Candy Designs to our collection soon."
